Educated in Ireland schools until the age of fourteen when she moved on her own to New York. Studied and excelled at a local high school there and graduated a year early. Went to Annapolis and graduated in the top 5% of her class, then went to a Naval Engineering school where she also graduated in the top 5% of her class.
After graduating from the Naval Engineering academy, served on a battleship and then was transfered per request to submarine navy. Served aboard the Sussex from 2018 to 2019, promoted to lieutenant and transfered to the SeaHawk where she searved from 2019 to 2021 when the SeaHawk was destroyed in a battle with some powerful pirates, leaving twenty-three survivors of the ship's complement of one hundred and ninety-six. Was decorated with several medals for service under fire, promoted to lieutenant commander and then sent to serve aboard a UEO underwater station until reassignment in 2022, when she was assigned as Chief Engineer to the seaQuest, which is her current post.
Born and raised on the coast of Ireland, she has always had a fascination with nature and with the sea. Her mother died when she was young, so she was raised by her father and older brother. Growing up in a family of men, she learned how to take care of herself, namely how to fight, and also grew a love for mechanics. Her father helped her study engineer, mechanics and quantum mechanics from a young age, which inspired her career choice. Her brother disappeared when he was 19, when she was 11, and she never heard from him again. Her father died when she was 14 of unknown causes, so she took all the family's money and caught a ride to New York City, New York in the United States of America. She was discovered by the police and put in a foster home. She never really connected with her foster family, and instead found a family at school where she excelled, specifically in mechanics and science. She went to Annapolis after high school at age 17, then to engineering school at age 21. She graduated Engineering school at age 23 and immediately began serving aboard the Sussex. She made friends easily, and again when she was reassigned to the SeaHawk. Most of her friends died in the ship's destruction, so since then, she's been more quiet, reserved and not quite as outgoing as she once was. She's slowly coming back to her old self though.
Quirky, and dry, she's a friendly person but sometimes prefers working in Engineering to interacting with people. She likes to play cards, explore new cultures and learn new languages (obviously). She has a sarcastic wit that sometimes gets her into trouble, especially when she can't hold her tongue. This happens when she believes in something ardently. When she believes in something powerfully enough, she might forget herself and become very argumentative, but she can make a good point from time to time. She does not immediately jump to violence, but is a good fighter if need be, very improvisational. Her father taught her how to use a sword, which she keeps in her quarters, but doesn't need in this day and age. In short she's kind, witty, intelligent, improvisational, curious, tough and fiery.
Skinny, wiry, so able to crawl into small spaces to fix engineering problems if she needs to. Loves to swim, so she's somewhat athletic seeming, but not buff. She's trim, with dark hair, dark eyes that sparkle quite often. She wears her hair short and keeps in shape. Picture attached.
As a child, she liked to get into trouble, so naturally suffered all sorts of scrapes and bruises then. Allergic to bees, but that's about it. Broke her arm when she was twelve, broke it again when she was sixteen. When the SeaHawk was destroyed, she came out of it with a shattered kneecap, several gashes and a concussion, resulting in a small scar across her right temple. Took a few months of physical therapy to get her knee back to normal, hence the station assignment the year following her ship's destruction. Now that she's back to normal, she's back on a ship where she belongs, but the knee still acts up from time to time, and whenever she gets a bad feeling, instead of prickly hairs on the back of her neck, she gets a twinging pain in her scar.
