seaQuest: The Dawning
Nathan Hale Bridger
Captain Bridger was the original designer of the seaQuest. However, when his son, Robert , was killed in the line of duty, Bridger left the navy, promising his wife Carol, that he would have nothing to do with the military. After his wife passed away, Bridger was convinced, (well, tricked) by Admiral Noyce and the UEO into taking command of the seaQuest.
Bridger is a man of science as well as a military officer. He doesn't rush any decision without thinking about the consequenses. He's not afraid to ignore the rule book and go with his gut instinct.
